OUR APPROACH
Supporting Children & Families Through Trusted, Evidence-Based Care
We take a thoughtful, individualized approach to help families understand what’s going on, build practical tools, and move forward with confidence.
OUR STORY
Built on a calling to help children and families
Family Support Services was founded in 2001 by Executive Director Brandy Holmes with a clear calling—to help children and families navigate difficult seasons with the right support.
With a background in social work and experience working with a wide range of individuals, including children, families, and those with developmental disabilities, Brandy saw firsthand the need for specialized care for younger children.
Through early work in child-focused settings, it became clear that many children were not receiving the level of support they needed. Many providers were not specifically trained or comfortable working with younger children, even though the need was there.
What started as a single-provider practice has grown into a group practice with multiple locations, serving families across North Alabama.
As the practice has grown, Brandy has remained intentional about building a team that reflects her standard of care; ensuring every family receives the same level of support she would personally provide.
That commitment continues to shape the experience families have at Family Support Services today.
